Hospital triathlon set for Saturday |

By Jan Schultz The Imperial Republican Teams and individuals are gearing up for Saturday’s amateur triathlon that will challenge participants with setting fastest times in swimming, biking and a run/walk. Sponsored by Chase County Community Hospital, the “CHEWs It or Lose It” triathlon is open to the public. Registration will start at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at the Imperial public pool on East 9th Street across from Chase County Schools. Competition starts at 9 a.m. The event includes a biking route of four miles, a 2.2 mile run/walk and six laps in the pool. Medals will go to the top three places in individual and team divisions. A traveling trophy also goes to the winning business team. Cost to take part is $75 for two or three-person teams, and $25 for individuals. There are several age divisions for individuals.
