The 2012 Chase County Schools’ Career Fair is scheduled for Sept. 20. So far eight businesses have indicated they will participate.
City of Imperial Community Development Director Leslie Carlholm said several other businesses may participate. If any business is interested in setting up a booth at the event, they may contact Carlholm at the city offices or at
In addition, she said two to four Mid-Plains Community College trades will be on hand to provide demonstrations “so students get an idea of how to work in those trades.”
Participants include Frenchman Valley Coop, Chase County Community Hospital, Prairie States Communications, 21st Century, Adams Bank & Trust, Imperial Manor, Allo Communications and the City of Imperial.
“I’m really excited about it,” Carlholm commented. “It’s worked well in the past but we’re changing it up this year so it doesn’t get stale. People seem enthusiastic.”
Carlholm said the event tries to include major employers in the area, but also to bring in new things each year such as the trade demonstrations.
Booths will be set up in the CCS Commons Area from 7:30-8 a.m. Students will be able to talk with business representatives from 8-11 a.m.
