It was announced Monday that Adams Lumber Company with sites in Grant and Imperial is under new ownership.
Chad and Amy Leibbrandt of Imperial have purchased the business—however, the company’s well-known name will remain the same.
Ron Kent, who manages the Grant site, has plans to retire soon. His brother-in-law Mike Frerichs, who presently manages the Imperial location, will remain with the company. Marcia Frerichs will continue to handle the company’s accounts payable.
“This opportunity is very exciting for my family,” said Chad Leibbrandt in a letter announcing the change.
He said he is excited to be back in the building industry where he has eight years of experience. Leibbrandt previously worked for Adams Lumber 16 years ago. He took career paths in Kearney and Denver, ending up back in Imperial.
As president and vice president of Leibbrandt Lumber Inc. (dba Adams Lumber Company), the Leibbrandts are looking forward to working with employees and customers associated with their newly acquired business.
Kent and the Frerichses said they greatly appreciate customers who have been loyal to the business over a span of 93 years in serving southwestern Nebraska. They encourage everyone to continue to support the Leibbrandts in providing building needs.
