William Donnar of Imperial has been charged in connection with a burglary at a building Troxell’s Heating & Appliance is renovating at 533 Broadway. He has also been charged with the theft of items from two vehicles.
Imperial Police Sgt. Ryan Wisnieski said the burglary at the new Troxell store occurred sometime between Aug. 5-15. Taken were two DeWalt Sawzall saws, one DeWalt drill and a 25,000 BTU air conditioner. The total cost of the items was $1,015, he said.
Wisnieski said on Aug. 15 two unlocked vehicles parked behind the VFW were entered. A $350 cell phone was taken from one vehicle and an $800 iPad was taken from the other vehicle.
He said an informant contacted the police department concerning the thefts and burglary.
Chase County Attorney Arlan Wine said Donnar, 30, was charged with burglary and one count of theft in the Troxell incident and two counts of theft in the others. A bond hearing will be held soon, he said, with arraignment to follow.
