Nebraska Community Foundation meeting in Imperial this week PDF Print E-mail

State board members and staff of the Nebraska Community Foundation (NCF) will travel to Imperial today (Thursday) for their quarterly board meeting.
Fund advisory committee members of the Imperial Community Foundation Fund will host the group of 25 on a bus tour, similar to what they provide during the annual alumni weekends, followed by a backyard barbecue.
The group will conduct their meeting at the Imperial Lied Library Friday.
The Imperial fund is an affiliate of NCF. Other guests joining the group for the evening are representatives from the Chase County Hospital Foundation, the Wauneta Community Foundation Fund, Imperial’s Economic Development Director Leslie Carlholm and School Supt. Brad Schoeppey.
The Wauneta fund is also an NCF affiliate and the Hospital Foundation holds an endowment with NCF.
Lori Pankonin of Imperial serves on the NCF board of directors and is usually the one traveling the farthest to meetings.
“This group does know where western Nebraska is and I appreciate their willingness to meet in different parts of the state,” Pankonin said.
Staff members have been to Chase County on numerous occasions to guide the local committees and meet with donors.
Shannon Harner of Lincoln, a Chase County High School alumna, currently serves as the NCF Board chairman.
Carol Maddux of Wauneta is a past NCF board member and the Wauneta Breeze Managing Editor Sheri Hink served on the NCF staff prior to her move to Wauneta in January.
The Nebraska Community Foundation provides education, strategic development, donor services and financial management to 221 affiliated funds across the state.  In the last five years more than $97 million has been reinvested in the state through NCF and its affiliated funds.
