Exhibits important part of fair experience PDF Print E-mail

During the Chase County Fair there’s a lot of traffic through the Exhibit Hall. Whether you’re a child, a 4-H member, youth, adult or senior, there are many categories in which to enter your work. Vegetables, photography, knitting, painting, quilting, flower arranging, cake decorating, jewelry boxes, jam, clothing, sculpture and bread are just a few of the categories in which local work is displayed. The exhibits are entered on the Tuesday morning of fair, as at the Needlework table pictured above. Judges judge each item, reward them with ribbons and determine which items will make the trip to the state fair. Entries are picked up, along with ribbons or premium money, the Sunday the fair closes. Below, young Miles Hanes was at the fairgrounds bright and early that Tuesday morning, entering a bird he made, among other items. (Republican photos)
