By Jan Rahn The Grant Tribune-Sentinel Wallace bank robbery suspect Drew A. Steier, 20, has a preliminary hearing set in Lincoln County Court for his alleged role in attempted armed robbery at the Farmers State Bank of Wallace on Aug. 13. A preliminary hearing is set for today (Thursday) at 1:30 p.m. CDT. Representing the defendant is Attorney Patrick B. Hays of North Platte. A second suspect in the attempted heist is Tracy N. Black, 52, who is being charged with robbery, a Class II felony. According to Black’s attorney, Robert Lindemeier of North Platte, the male suspect waived a preliminary hearing. A District Court date is pending in Lincoln County. The two males were apprehended less than a mile north of Imperial on Highway 61 early in the afternoon of Aug. 13. According to the bank’s president, a lone male entered the bank through the front door and demanded money. After being told the money was locked up, he turned around and left, entering a grey Ford F250 pickup containing another male. The vehicle turned south, and both were apprehended without incident a few minutes later.
