Chase County fans itching for the fall sports season are encouraged to attend Friday night’s pep rally and Longhorn Booster Club barbecue at the school parking lot.
The Booster Club will begin serving the meal of hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, chips and drink at 6 p.m. The pep rally is set to start at 7 p.m.
Booster Club members who have renewed their memberships or pay that night will eat free, along with all fall sports season athletes. All others can  eat for $5 each, said Jill Moline of the Booster committee.
Booster Club members can join at three levels—$100 at orange level, $50 for black and $25 for white. Members can also mail their fees to Kara Engbrecht, 33664 738 Rd., Imperial NE 69033.
The pep rally and barbecue were originally scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 22, but were moved to Friday earlier this week.
The Longhorn football team has scheduled a 6:30 p.m. practice on Friday, as well, that will be open to the public, said Coach Dan Lenners. After the practice, the coach said there will be a parents’ meeting in the bleachers about 8:30 p.m.
The Lady Longhorn softball team is already into its 2012 season with games Tuesday and Thursday this week. The volleyball, football and cross country teams open their season next week.
