Second printing of Lamar 125th books coming; orders taken through August PDF Print E-mail

A month after a well-attended 125th anniversary celebration in Lamar, there is still a lot of interest in the book of history compiled for the event.
Carolyn Wallin of Lamar, who spearheaded the quasquicentennial celebration and book printing, said because of the interest, more books will be printed. However, orders will be taken only until the end of August, she said.
So far, she has orders for 47 books at $25 each.
For the celebration in July, 120 books were printed and all were sold prior to or at the event.
Wallin emphasized the second printing will be the final printing of the book which contains more than 150 pages of family history, and stories/photos about the schools,  fire department, churches, businesses and more. Much of the community’s early history is also reviewed. Lamar was founded in 1887.
