A closeup of her children in  boots and spurs standing on a fence was the judging committee’s choice for Best of Show, the top prize in the annual Chase County Fair’s open photography contest.
“Cowgirl Spurs” taken by Tiffany Reeves of Imperial earned the $75 top prize in the contest.
“Cowgirl Spurs” was one of the four first place winners—it won the color division—from which the Best of Show selection was made, according to contest coordinator Stephanie Stromberger.
Other firsts were won by Dale Grosbach (nature), Sharla Hickey (digitally-altered) and Brenda Cahow (black and white).
Cash prizes went to the winners in four divisions in these amounts—$40 for first, $30 for second, $20 for third and $10 for fourth.
All 70 photos entered in the exhibit will be on display in the exhibit building on the fairgrounds all week of the fair.
Sponsoring the contest, in part, were Fine Things Jewelry and Gifts and the Imperial Credit Union.
