Free transfer station day Saturday for Imperial residents PDF Print E-mail

This Saturday, residents of Imperial will have a free transfer station day at the Southwest Nebraska Solid Waste Agency site at the south edge of Imperial.
It’s part of Take Pride in Imperial Week, where local residents are sprucing up the community ahead of the Chase County Fair later this month.
Take Pride in Imperial Week was suggested by Mayor Dwight Coleman last summer, and was continued again this year. The free transfer station day was approved by the city council in July.
Only household trash will be accepted at no charge Saturday, according to the council vote. Commercial trash will be accepted on Saturday but will be charged the normal fees, according to city officials.
Transfer station hours Saturday are 10 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
Other clean-up activities including street and hydrant painting, street sign painting, trash pickup and clearing of weeds are being done by individuals, organizations and businesses this week. Contact the city office, 882-4368, if you want to get involved.
