Those with a giving heart in Imperial and surrounding areas have another opportunity to help those in need.
Again this summer, staff at Adams Bank & Trust in Imperial are conducting a school supply drive. Any of the items on the accompanying list of suggested supplies at Chase County Schools (CCS) are being accepted.
Audra Schilke is coordinating the effort for the bank, and said the items will be delivered to the school and given to students whose families may not be able to afford the needed supplies. School staff will choose which students receive the items, she said.
School bags and P.E. shoes are also among the items people can donate. Both new and gently used backpacks will be accepted, but they request other items be new.
A collection point will be set up at the bank through Aug. 31. People can also make monetary donations.
Adams Bank & Trust will match all of the items donated and up to $500 in the cash donations, Schilke said.
Items not used by the school will be donated later to Goodwill.
People can leave items at the bank during their regular lobby hours, which are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Copies of the 2012-13 CCS list of supplies are  also available at the bank.
