Water helped at hot, hot Fun Day |

Water was everywhere and that was a good thing for the Imperial Volunteer Fire Department’s Helen Fanning Memorial Family Fun Day July 4. With temperatures surpassing 100 degrees, water felt good, even if it was in the face as Tanner Roenfeldt and Ashton Robinson, left, receive in a water gun fight. Water was also plentiful for the FFA-sponsored volleyball tourney. Below right, Kerry Shinn attempts a block, then fell back into the water. At bottom, the winning water fight team in the competition that day, from left, Adam Crapson, Lucas Harms and Dalton Harms, took home $60 in Chamber Bucks provided by the IVFD. IVFD auxiliary members, below from left, Ann Kelley, Sonya Schilke and Terri Dillan, serve up one of the free hot dogs. (Republican photos)
