Ticket and event brochures for this year’s Chase County Fair & Expo hit county mail boxes Saturday.
Ticket sales opened by phone and internet last Friday and activity has been good, according to co-ticket manager Larry Munger.
Munger said the greatest portion of early sales came through the fair’s web site, www.chasecountyfair.com. He said phone orders are also starting to come in.
This year’s fair ticket brochure took on a whole new design.
In previous years, the brochure folded down to a 4.25- by 7-inch postcard style mailer.
This year the fair board sought to have the brochure make a greater impact when people received it in the mail.
The new design was printed as an eight-page, 7-inch by 10-inch catalog format, featuring full color throughout.
The new design remains small enough that it can be folded in half and put in a purse or back pocket during the fair.
This year’s entertainment includes Travis Tritt with special guest Hunter Hayes on Friday, Aug. 17. They will be followed on Saturday, Aug. 18, by Brian Howe, the former lead singer for Bad Company, and the group, Theory of a Deadman. Both shows start at 7:30 p.m. MDT.
The brochure has ordering information for purchasing tickets, which can be done by mail, phone or on the internet.
Phone orders are accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If people order their tickets prior to Aug. 1, they pay $5 less than the ticket face value.
All residents of Chase County received brochures in the mail. People who have ordered tickets in the past three years also received a brochure.
