|Quilt auction raises money for library|
The crowd wasn’t large but it was enthusiastic in bidding on quilts during the Lied Imperial Public Library’s quilt auction last Saturday. Hosted by the Friends of the Library, the auction raised $1,100 after expenses.
A quilt featuring youngsters reading books, sewn and donated by Mary Luhrs of Imperial, was purchased and donated back to the library by Alberta Grosbach.
Greg Eskew donated his services as auctioneer. Proceeds from the auction will be used to fund special projects at the library.
Coordinator Becky Carman said the Friends hope to make the auction an event every three years.
