Two Imperial FFA teams from Chase County Schools brought home purple ribbons following district competition in Curtis last Wednesday. Four teams qualified for state competition.
The Ag Sales team of Mollie Ringleman, Chantal Heathers, Andrea Hogsett and Blair Hartman took first place. In addition, Ringleman placed first, Heathers third, Hogsett seventh and Hartman 14th in individual competition.
The Farm Business Management team of Spencer Hartman, Justin German, Steven Fish and Jared Knobbe also took first in their division. In addition, Hartman took first, German fifth and Fish ninth in individual competition.
A third place red went to the Agriscience team of Mindy Castle, Jessica Hartman, MaKenna Ketter and Tyler Jennings. In addition, Castle placed sixth, Hartman ninth, Ketter 28th and Jennings 38th in the class.
The Ag Sales, Farm Business Management and Agriscience teams will all compete at the state convention.
Sixth place in Floriculture went to Jenna Schilke (4th), Elizabeth Tomky (20th) and Leslie Acosta.
The Agronomy team of Mallory Coleman (34th), Tyler Oxford, Sam Haarberg and Derek Schilke also participated in the district competition and will travel to state competition. Sponsor Jason Speck said agronomy teams may qualify for the state convention without placing because there is no limit to the number of teams that may attend state competition.
