|R-Nette sells Pioneer Seed|
■ Editor’s note: This is one in a series of features that will spotlight businesses in Imperial. The community has a thriving business community, and all residents may not realize the extent of services and products local businesses provide. This feature will be a regular offering throughout the year and beyond, and will include those businesses with a commercial address located outside of the home.

A family corporation established in 1985 for farming purposes also sells Pioneer Hybrid Seed. R-Nette, located at 412 Broadway, is owned by Rod and Lynette Johnson and their sons, Curtis, Ryan and Clint.
Rod is the sales representative and Curtis has been the associate sales rep for five years. Rod started selling Pioneer Seed 25 years ago.
The corporation moved to its present location June 24 of 2005. It sells corn, soybean, alfalfa, milo and sorghum Sudan grass seed.
R-Nette also sells silage innoculant, which is applied to silage to help with the fermentation process and insure a longer bulk life.
Rod Johnson said many people aren’t aware of all of the different products he sells. Most seed is purchased in November or December and delivered in the spring.
Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, although the Johnsons are available around the clock during planting season.
R-Nette sells seed in Chase and Dundy Counties.
