Pairings released for next week’s SPVA basketball tournaments PDF Print E-mail

    Pairing for the 2009 SPVA conference basketball tournament next week have been released.
    The Longhorn boys will go into the tournament as the #5 seed with a 3-6 record and power points of 38.5556.
    They will play fourth-seeded Perkins County in the opening game of the tournament on Monday, Jan.19 at 6 p.m. MT.
    All tournament games will be played at the North Platte Community College gym.
    Top-seeded Maxwell and second-seeded North Platte St. Pat’s drew byes in the boys’ bracket.
    Winners of the boys’ games Monday will play the top two seeds on Thursday, Jan. 22. The losers of Monday’s games face off Saturday in the fifth place game. The championship and consolation games will be played on Saturday.
    In the girls’ bracket, the Longhorns go in as the sixth seed with a 1-8 record and power points of 35.5556.
    They will face third-seeded North Platte St. Pat’s in their opener which will be held Tuesday, Jan. 20 with game time set for 7:30 p.m. MT.
    Top-seeded Grant and second-seeded Hershey drew byes in the girls’ tournaments.
    Winners of the girls’ games Tuesday will play the top two seeds on Friday, Jan. 23. The losers of Monday’s games face off Saturday in the fifth place game. The championship and consolation games for the girls will also be played on Saturday.
