Wrestling opener just two weeks away PDF Print E-mail

It’s a short jump from the conclusion of high school fall sports to the start of the winter season, as members of the Longhorn wrestling team are discovering. First official practices could not start until Monday this week, just a short two and a half weeks before their first matches on Dec. 2, when Chase County travels to a match in Oshkosh. Some of the squad was working on conditioning on the first day of practice Monday at the school’s wrestling room including, above from left, Jeremiah Lueth, Keithan Cochran, Nathan Hinojosa, Trevor Fuehrer and Garret Thompson. Head Coach Matt Vlasin said there are nine wrestlers out for the squad this season. He and Asst. Coach Rob Lueth are also working with a group of 11 junior high wrestlers this month.
