Costume parade brings creativity, smiles PDF Print E-mail

For about a half hour last Thursday, students, staff and the public were treated to the annual Halloween costume parade at Chase County Schools. At left, kindergartner Bryn McNair parades with her class as a veterinarian, complete with a few animals and protective mask. Below, left to right, fifth grader Brady Gittlein is an accommodating brother to his little sister, Jaime, as he takes time to walk her around the gym with the other preschoolers. This bright yellow baby duck is actually Andee Schoenholz, who also joined the preschool parade with her mom. Gentry Fisher, a third grader, bounced along the Longhorn gym floor as Tigger. Each class paraded individually with their teachers so all could see in a nearly-full gym. During the event, class winners were also announced from the FCCLA-sponsored Red Ribbon Week. There was a tie for the class that had the highest percentage of students who dressed up for each daily Red Ribbon Week theme. Kim Spady’s 2nd grade class and Rita Hogsett’s 1st graders each had 98% participation and won ice cream parties and other prizes from the FCCLA chapter. (Republican photos)
