Orthopedic surgeon, P.A. to begin seeing patients in November
This past summer, longtime orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Mark Meyer, announced that he was cutting back on services to be able to spend more time at home and with family. As a result, he would no longer be visiting patients at Chase County Community Hospital.
According to Lola Jones, CCCH administrator, “Dr. Meyer was a valuable resource and will certainly be missed at our facility by both patients and staff. We will continue to provide orthopedic services to our area residents and as such have contracted with New West Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery of Kearney.”
Dr. David Huebner of New West will begin serving the community in November. Dr. Huebner completed his undergraduate work at the University of Nebraska and graduated from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo. in 1995. He completed residency at the Grand Rapids Orthopedic Surgery Program in Grand Rapids, MI in 2001.
Huebner was certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery in 2003. He currently serves as Director of Orthopedic Trauma and Co-Director of Trauma at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Dr. Huebner has presented at many regional and national conferences on various orthopedic topics and has been published in Orthopedic Transactions, a professional orthopedic periodical.
Joining Dr. Huebner at New West will be Orthopedic Physician Assistant Joel McReynolds.
McReynolds is a familiar face to patients and staff at Chase County Community Hospital as he has served this area for the past several years with Dr. Meyer.
Both Huebner and McReynolds will see patients as part of the Specialty Clinics Program at Chase County Community Hospital.
“We are excited about the opportunity to work with New West Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery and look forward to the variety of services they bring to our health care system,” stated Jones.
