Friday is the last day that persons may register to vote in the November election. Those wishing to register must apply directly to the Chase County Clerk’s office in person before 6 p.m.
The deadline to mail in a registration has just passed, on Oct. 15.
When applying to vote, a resident must have a Nebraska driver’s license number or the last four digits of their Social Security number.
The voter registration system provides the ability to match this information with the Department of Motor Vehicles before confirming the registration.
Chase County Clerk Debbie Clark said, “We have not noticed any increase in new registrations.”
There are two other deadlines to remember concerning the Nov. 2 General Election.
Oct. 27 is the last day that early voting ballots may be mailed out to a voter, so interested parties must apply prior to that date.
Those ballots must be returned to the clerk’s office by Nov. 2. Clark said there have been 113 early voter applications.
Nov. 1 is the last day to vote early, in person, at the clerk’s office. All other voting must be done on Nov. 2 at the different precinct sites.
