Properties in Imperial are being assessed starting this week for violations to the city’s nuisance codes.
Last December, the city council contracted with West Central Nebraska Development District (WCNDD), appointing them as the Nuisance Officer for the city.
CJ Poltack of WCNDD said Wednesday the assessments are underway. The city council noted at its meeting Monday that assessments were starting in the northwest part of town.
In addition, the city updated its nuisance ordinances in recent months, incorporating sections developed by the Creighton Law College and WCNDD, that set forth a detailed plan for clean-up of properties declared a nuisance.
Employees with WCNDD were expected to be here this week to begin the assessments.
