After 21 years, Lyle and Judy Nickerson have sold Service Insurance Agency to Eric Moreland of Moreland Insurance LLC.
The business will remain at 409 Broadway, but will be renamed Moreland Insurance.
Lyle Nickerson began working at Service Insurance in 1973. He and Judy purchased the agency from Greg Harms in 1989.
Lyle said the couple isn’t retiring, but are not sure what they will do next. “I’m not just looking to do nothing,” he laughed.
The couple has been active in Imperial, and want to thank their loyal clients for their business and friendship.
Moreland said he’s very honored that the Nickersons would consider selling their business to him. He’s excited to continue the business, started in 1956, and its good reputation.
Nickerson and Moreland will work together for the next several months to ensure a smooth transition for clients. Jayne Henry, who has been with Service Insurance since 1992, will continue in her role of office manager.
Moreland Insurance LLC will provide property and casualty, crop and hail, and life insurance. Moreland is also licensed in accident and health insurance.
Companies represented include Farmers Alliance, Progressive, EMC, Homsite Insurance, Travelers, Met Life home and auto, Hartford, Great American Crop Insurance and more.
Moreland graduated from Chase County High School in 1999. Following college at York College and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, he has been in sales.
He has both real estate and insurance licenses, and covers Nebraska and Colorado.
