Eight-year-old Madison Schuller competed in the 2010 WSSA World Sport Stacking Championship in Denver, Colo. over the weekend. She was mainly there because mother Jodie Schuller, Chase County Schools elementary physical education teacher, wanted to see a big competition.
Sport stacking, or a timed event using cups for making pyramids, is an up and coming event in P.E. classes across the world.
Schuller introduced the event in her classes this past fall, and students now practice before and after school.
Madison competed in the eight-year-old division. In the 3-3-3 stacking, in which nine cups are used to make three pyramids, she placed 36th out of 62 children, with a time of 4.28 seconds.
