Former CCS student new FFA officer

Persistence paid off for Chase County Schools graduate Kerry Swanson. He applied for a second time this year to become a state FFA officer, and was selected at the State FFA Convention in Lincoln last week.
The new vice president participated in FFA all four of his high school years, serving as parliamentarian his junior year and vice president his senior year.
His SAE was in ag sales placement as a Hill’s Family Foods employee.
Swanson said Monday that he’s been dreaming of becoming an officer for the last two to three years.
“After the disappointment of last year,” applying to become an officer and not being selected, “it’s probably the most exciting feeling in my life. It’s an unexplainable feeling.”
