By Jan Schultz The Imperial Republican The Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) has announced the high school students across the state who have earned 2008 academic all-state awards for the fall sports seasons. This program recognizes students who have been nominated by their schools, based on leadership and scholarship guidelines. A nominated student must be a varsity player or organizational leader who has played a significant role on the team or in the organizational activity that season. The student must also have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) in all curricular subjects of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale. Schools can nominate two students for each NSAA-sponsored activity offered that season. For the fall sports seasons, the following students at Chase County Schools have received the honor: Football—Schyler Heathers, Kerry Swanson. Cross country—Jilanne German. Softball—Shanna Carter, Dee Dee Pursley. Volleyball—Paula Leibbrandt, Morgan Strand. |
