Junior high boys collect wins PDF Print E-mail

The junior high boys’ basketball team won four of five games played against Perkins County and Dundy County teams last week.
Their only loss during the games played Jan. 20 and 23 was to the A team from Dundy County. The Shorthorns defeated Dundy County’s B and C teams, as well as Perkins County’s A and B teams.
The boys conclude their 2009-10 season today (Thursday) when they travel to Madrid for games against Perkins County.
Dundy County games
Chase County outscored Dundy County in the first quarter of the A game on Saturday, but Dundy County ended up with the 45-38 win.
Jeff Dickey led the Chase County scoring with 11 points. Other point-getters were Justus Wallin 9, Kelton Fisher 5, Isaac Sorensen 4, Tyler Oxford 4, Trey Milner 3 and Dan Sullivan 2.

The Shorthorns won big in the B game, 37-12.
Nine Shorthorns scored led by Kevin German with 11 points. Also scoring were Sam Haarberg 6, Cody Cochran 4, Travis Luhrs 4, David Almanza 4, Ryan Moline 2, Ty Spickelmier 2, Holden Dreiling 2 and Curtis Laird 2.

Chase County’s C team finished the day with a 25-20 win over Dundy County.    
Scoring for the home team were Korey Krutsinger 6, Aiden Wilkinson 5, Kevin Chavira 4, Kris Westfahl 4, Jacob Christensen 2, William Lewis 2 and Sam Cahow 2.

Perkins County games
The Shorthorn boys took wins in both the A and B games against Perkins County on Jan. 20.
It was a 38-20 win for Chase County in the A game.
Kelton Fisher led the team on offense with eight points. Also scoring were Tyler Oxford 7, Trey Milner 6, Isaac Sorensen 6, Justus Wallin 4, Travis Luhrs 3, Darin Knobbe 2 and Ty Spickelmier 2.

The Shorthorns took a 21-11 win in the B game.
Chase County’s scoring totals were not complete for the B game.
