Newest rural tanker arrives PDF Print E-mail

The Imperial Rural Fire District’s newest tanker arrived Monday, joining the fleet used by the Imperial Volunteer Fire Department. Fire Chief Bryan Dannatt said the new tanker is a four-wheel drive International truck that has an 1,800-gallon water storage capacity, a 3,000-gallon porta tank, two quick dump features to fill the porta tank from which other trucks can take water and will also be set up to fight grass fires from the front. Due to space limitations in the fire hall, some other IVFD equipment has been moved to the airport. Dannatt indicated there is some warranty work on the new tanker to be taken care of before it’s put into service. More on the IVFD’s latest addition will be in next week’s issue. (Republican photo)
