Joni Kaiser is now renting space at The Massage Shoppe, offering massages on Mondays and some evenings. The Massage Shoppe is owned by Jeanine Bauerle at 231 W. 17th St.
Kaiser obtained her state licensing in 2009 after attending Universal College of Healing Arts in Omaha.
In Nebraska, a massage therapist must have 1,000 hours of massage education and pass the national certification test to become licensed in the state.
Kaiser offers full and upper body massages, as well as pregnancy massages.
While receiving her training, she offered massages at Parkview Assisted Living in Imperial. Kaiser said she is exploring the possibility of continuing that.
Bauerle opened The Massage Shoppe in her home in December, 2003. She had received her certification in 2002 following an education at Collinson School of Therapeutics and Massage in Colorado Springs.
The Massage Shoppe is also licensed by the State of Nebraska.
Working Tuesdays through Fridays, Bauerle provides full, upper body and facial massages in the Swedish massage method. That means her motions go towards the heart, providing good circulation.
Persons seek out massages, both women said, for relaxation, to provide muscle relaxation or for overuse injuries.
Both massage therapists said they are available for out-of-office events such as scrapbooking weekends, spa days or providing chair massages at events.
Bauerle said that in February, Imperial native Hillary Dannatt will possibly be working out of The Massage Shoppe one weekend a month.
To make an appointment, Bauerle may be reached at (308) 882-5039. Kaiser may be reached at (308) 882-5359 or (308) 882-1873.
