This year, the Imperial Chamber of Commerce wants the kids of the community to be involved in its annual Christmas lighting contest.
A kids’ window division was added to the contest, which also includes five other categories in the following areas—religious, contemporary, best tree, most unique and judges’ choice.
The kids’ window division replaces a previous “best window” category for adults in past years, according to Connie Dart of the promotions committee. Families are encouraged to get their children involved in this year’s window decorating for the contest.
There is no need to enter the contest. Judging will take place Sunday night, Dec. 20, when judges from the Chamber tour the community and rate those homes with lights on after dark.
In all, a total of $275 in Chamber Bucks will be awarded to first and second place winners in the contest, with $25 going to first place, and $15 to second in the adult divisions. The new kids’ window division winners will receive $15 for first and $10 for second in Chamber Bucks.
