Imperial area residents will have plenty of opportunity to listen to fine music this Christmas season. Chase County Schools will be the site of three concerts next week.
The fifth and sixth grade band concert will begin at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14.
The fifth grade band will play “12 The Clock Strikes,” “Gingerbread Men on Parade,” “Santa’s Favorites,” “We Three Kings,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
The sixth grade band will perform “Frosty the Snowman,” “Let It Snow! Let It Snow!,” “The Sword of Kings,” “A Shaker Hymn,” “Eye of the Tiger,” as well as solos and duets.
On Tuesday, Dec. 15, the vocal music concert for grades 7-12 begins at 7:30 p.m.
The junior high and high school choruses will perform numbers they have been working on during the fall, as well as some holiday songs.
The junior high and high school show choirs will perform selections from their competition at the Scottsbluff Festival Nov. 7. During that competition, the junior high show choir received a gold trophy, and both show choirs competed in the finals.
On Thursday, Dec. 17, the vocal students in grades 4-6 will present “The Poor Count’s Christmas,” a children’s fairy tale that has been adapted for the stage.
The sixth grade students have been designated actors, with the fourth and fifth grade students as carolers in the village, the dancers and the instrument players.
Songs include “Ding Dong Diggy Diggy Dong,” “He is Born,” “Pat-a-Pan,” “Chatter With the Angels,” “The Day is Now Over,” and “Peace Unto You.”
The K-3 concert scheduled for Tuesday was postponed and has been rescheduled for Friday night at 7 p.m.
All concerts will be held in the school auditorium.
