Chase County Schools placed a disappointing eighth at district one-act play competition in Ogallala last week. Director Jill Bauerle said “we put on our best show” but the judges had other ideas about what was good.
“They didn’t like the production,” Bauerle said of the judges. The students had placed first two weeks before in SPVA competition with “Something’s Rotten in the State of Denmark.”
The play is a spoof on “Hamlet.”
Bridgeport High School placed first in districts. There were eight schools in the competition.
Chase County students recognized for good acting were Chevy Smith, Bryan Bischoff, Josh Richmond and Paul Gaschler.
