Snow on Sunday cut down on the crowds visiting the fifth annual Vision of Trees in Champion. However, Chairman Jean Farrer said the weekend-long event was successful.
About 40 trees were decorated by various individuals and organizations for the “vision” part of the weekend. Selected as winners through “participation drawing” were “Christmas Sweets” by Marayah Cupp, “Christmas Splendor” by Rhonda Smith and “Spoon Tree” by Marge Berry.
Other trees carried themes such as teddy bears, a tea party, the ocean, Boy Scouts, bells, nativities and more.
Also displayed were a Santa Claus collection belonging to Neva Molzer and Joyce Bernard’s Christmas village.
Winners of the raffle prizes were as follows:
Lake painting—Arlene Bischoff
Wheelbarrow—Arlene Large
Metal Christmas tree—Spencer Hartman
Snowman wall hanging—Lisa Krutsinger
Toy box—Rhonda Smith
During the weekend there was various entertainment. Two noon meals were also served. A silent auction was held, with winners to be notified this week.
