Youths help provide food baskets PDF Print E-mail

Youths attending the Wednesday night “Area 51” coordinated by Lighthouse Fellowship did their part last week in helping 16 families in the community have a nice Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. In preparation for the project, Pastor Matt Dupiere said the youths were encouraged to raise as much money as possible from their spare change, which was used to purchase eight turkeys. The church matched the effort and bought eight additional turkeys. Then, last Wednesday, the youths went door-to-door in Imperial, asking for additional food contributions to complete the baskets. Above, the youths are pictured in front of their door-to-door collections last week. At right, Matt and Kristy Dupiere direct youths on organizing the canned food and other donations. The 16 food baskets were delivered Sunday night. (Republican photos)
