Rubble being removed at fire site PDF Print E-mail

The tedious task of removing the rubble left at the scene of the Harchelroad Motors fire started last Wednesday on Imperial’s main street. Sid Harchelroad said, at this point of the cleanup, all that remains at the site is “vaporized, crystallized or burned.” Through the chain link fence put up around the site, MCL Construction of Ogallala can be seen busily moving the debris last Friday. Harchelroad said it’s difficult to say how long the cleanup would take, but hopefully it can be completed in a couple of weeks. An Oct. 17 early morning fire destroyed the showroom, offices, parts department, body shop and the service shop, the latter of which was being torn down. Cause of the fire has not yet been determined. The dealership, formerly located at 316 Broadway, is open for business across the street in their showroom. (Republican photo)
