UNL Extension beef meetings scheduled
Economic competitiveness and herd management are the focus of the West Central Cattleman’s Day.
This meeting will be held Nov. 24, 8:30 am at the Zion Lutheran Church, Imperial. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged.

Several very important topics will be covered at the West Central Cattleman’s Day.
Drew Gaffney, Nebraska Cattleman, will review “Future Food Safety” and how it will effect cattle producers.
The Value of Corn Stalks vs Range is Aaron Stalker’s, UNL Beef System Specialist, topic.
Matt Spangler, UNL Extension Beef Geneticist, will discuss “Utilizing Genomic Information in Sire Selection.”
Economic topics will be covered by Robert Tigner, SW4 Educator, and Brian Strauch, Red Willow Educator.
Rick Funston, UNL Beef Reproduction, will cover “Tips to Achieve a Short Calving Season.”
Registration for the meeting includes a set of proceedings, meal and refreshments. Registration cost is $20 for the first person from a farm or ranch. Additional persons is $10. Booth spaces are available for $25.
