The 27th annual Old West Weekend Show Choir Festival was Saturday at Scottsbluff High School, sponsored by the Hometown Radio group in Scottsbluff.
The Chase County Junior High Show Choir and the 9th St. Singers participated in the Festival.
The junior high show choir earned a “Superior” rating and were selected to represent their division in the finals Saturday night. The 9th St. Singers earned an “Excellent” rating in their division, but also earned a “wild card” and were selected to perform again in the evening finals.
“Seven groups competed in the finals Saturday night and we were excited to have both of our groups selected to perform again for the Outstanding Trophy,” said Director Randy Hayes.
Forty-seven Chase County students attended the event, and they represented the school and community in a very positive manner throughout the day, Hayes said.
Nineteen groups performed throughout the day in five different divisions as set up by the Hometown Radio Group.
Three judges adjudicated the event and offered written and taped critiques for each group for the day event as well as the evening finals.
