A New Jersey teen with ties to southwest Nebraska got the chance to live the dreams of thousands of teenage girls this month.
Elizabeth Hamilton, granddaughter of Nancy and Ron O’Neil of rural Wauneta, was among three girls chosen for an appearance on the “Rachael Ray Show” as fans of the “Twilight” saga.
Elizabeth is the 15-year-old daughter of Shannon and Lois Hamilton of Alloway, N.J.
Shannon Hamilton is a Chase County High School graduate and former Imperial resident.
Last week Elizabeth and two other young ladies taped an appearance on the “Rachael Ray Show” helping to promote the latest movie in the popular “Twilight” series, “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”
The episode was scheduled to air this week on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
During her appearance on the show, Elizabeth got to model clothes from Nordstrom’s new “Twilight” clothing line. “And she got to keep the clothes,” said Nancy O’Neil, noting how proud she is of her granddaughter’s accomplishments, which include excelling in academics as well as athletics.
Elizabeth was chosen to appear on the show after an interview at her home in which she discussed her vast collection of “Twilight” memorabilia, proving that she is indeed one of the series’ biggest fans.
During her trip to New York City, Elizabeth was treated to “the ultimate makeover,” transforming her into one of the story’s characters, Bella Swan. The makeover transformation was highlighted on the show.
During her “Rachael Ray” appearance Elizabeth got to meet “New Moon” hunk (and werewolf) Alex Meraz, who Elizabeth says is one of her favorite actors. Locally, the “Rachael Ray Show” is broadcast on the NTV Network at 3 p.m. MT/4 p.m. CT each weekday.
