Blizzard of holiday stamps PDF Print E-mail

Not only did Imperial experience a blizzard last week, but it’s “snowing” inside the Imperial Post Office, too. The “Winter Holidays” stamps for Christmas, 2009, feature snowflakes.
The stamps depict a reindeer, snowman, gingerbread man and toy soldier. Each is surrounded by snowflakes.
Also being offered this year is a new Madonna and Child stamp, as well as Hanukkah and Kwanzaa stamps.
Imperial Postmaster Jerry Lines said the Postal Service sends each post office 50 sheets of every stamp. He has since ordered 30 more books of each of the snow and Madonna stamps, equaling 6,000 additional stamps.
Lines said he didn’t order many Kwanzaa and Hanukkah stamps, as there isn’t much demand for those. He has about 200 of each of those stamps.
The stamps come in books of 20 each. They are available for sale now, Lines noted.
