Chase County’s regular season of volleyball came to an end Oct. 27 with matches at McCook.
But a win just wasn’t to be for the varsity team, which dropped the match in straight sets, 14-25, 22-25 and 17-25.
Coach Jodie Schuller said her team had trouble passing the ball and “we were just a little flat” against the Lady Bison.
Chase County had a full week off between the McCook match and their previous match, but they just didn’t appear ready for the game, Schuller said.
The Lady Longhorns tallied 18 kills in the game, and finished with a .062 hitting efficiency. Karlee Kunnemann and Alexis Tropf each had five kills, while Shayla Dinnel collected four.
McCook tallied a .185 hitting efficiency after racking up 34 kills.
Chase County had trouble at the serving line, hitting just 46 of 54 for 85 percent. Maria Ramos led the team with 17 points, while Paula Leibbrandt scored nine and Chantal Heathers, eight.
The loss ended Lady Longhorns’ varsity regular season at 13-16.
JV, freshmen also lose
Both of Chase County’s JV and freshmen teams also lost at McCook last week.
The JV team lost in two, 14-25 and 21-25.
In the freshman match, scores were 22-25 and 18-25.
