Governor to keynote wind power conference in Kearney PDF Print E-mail

The Nebraska Wind Power 2009 Conference will be held in Kearney at the Holiday Inn Convention Center Nov. 9-10.
Governor Dave Heineman will keynote the conference Monday noon and Larry Flowers, National Technical Director of Wind Powering America at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colo., will keynote Tuesday noon.
The conference will feature the release of the Nebraska Power Association and NREL Wind Integration Task Force findings on the impact of adding various amounts of wind energy to the Nebraska grid, and the broad set of new realities associated with Nebraska joining the Southwest Power Pool (SPP).
In addition, there will be two sets of parallel workshops on a wide range of topics with experts on small wind, landowner rights and opportunities, net metering, planning and zoning, siting considerations, wind technician training, transmission, state and federal policies and other issues of interest to wind supporters.
Pre-registration fees for the conference are $ 60 per person and $30 per student until Oct. 30, and $75 per person and $45 per student for registration after the deadline and at the door space permitting.
Registrations will be limited to the first 650 participants.
