The Southwest Four Extension Unit board will interview an applicant for the position of ag educator on Dec. 22. The position has been empty since the death of Tom Dill almost two years ago.
Extension Educator Nancy Frecks said the board has been trying to fill the vacancy for some time. This is the fourth time a prospective educator has been interviewed. The other three times the applicant took another position.
A candidate must have a Master’s degree in an ag-related field. He or she should be able to work with water and irrigation, agronomy and livestock issues.
Frecks said she doubts an announcement concerning the candidate will be made before the end of the year. The board will make its decision Dec. 22, but the University of Nebraska must also approve the hiring.
