|Chamber’s Caring Tree ‘sells out’|
Despite a sagging economy, people in Chase County are still willing to help those in need. The Imperial Chamber of Commerce’s Caring Tree for children is bare.
The tree, located at Pinnacle Bank, contained the names of 20 children. Mary Deyle of the Chamber said the tree was only up about two days before all of the names were taken.
The children need things such as clothing, toys, hair accessories and snow boots, Deyle said. The items donated must be turned in at the bank by Dec. 19.
The tree was made possible by suggestions to the Chamber by Chase County Schools.
Some area churches are also helping those in need. Youth and several committees from First United Methodist Church were to deliver food and clothing baskets to families on Wednesday.
