Adults, kids gather for annual Life Chain PDF Print E-mail

Thirty-five area adults and children braved the elements in Imperial Sunday to participate in the annual Life Chain, a nationwide event the first Sunday in October. The event is a silent, prayerful witness in which pro-life Americans and Canadians stand and pray, while holding signs such as “Abortion Kills Children,” “Jesus Forgives and Heals,” “Pray To End Abortion” and “Adoption: a Loving Option.” At left, Christiane Vaverek and daughters, Rebekah and Laura, hold their signs on Broadway St., where the girls had a little more protection from the weather than their mom did. With umbrella in hand, Sarah Morse, below, joined the group for the hour of prayer between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. Temperatures were in the mid-40s with light rain at times during the Life Chain.
