Local youths do well at state PP&K PDF Print E-mail

Three youths from Imperial competed at Saturday’s state punt, pass and kick (PP&K) football contest in Valentine, and all three brought home medals. From left, Stevie Baker, competing in the girls’ age 8-9 division, placed second in her division; Josie Peterson, in the girls’ 10-11 class, finished first; and Cody Hamilton, competing in the boys’ age 8-9 division, also placed first. Scores recorded Saturday by the first place finishers in all divisions have been submitted to a regional director, where they will be compared with scores from other state winners for further advancement in the contest. Saturday’s state contest was conducted by the Valentine Jaycees. Members of the Imperial Jaycees, who hosted the local PP&K contest in late September, paid the local youths’ entry fees for the state contest. (Courtesy photo)
