A Colorado man and woman escaped with only minor cuts and scrapes in a Friday afternoon accident, about eight miles south of Imperial.
Chase County Deputy Bill Whitlow said William Knight, 48, of Sterling, Colo., was southbound on Avenue 331 when he lost control of the 2008 Chevy Malibu on the gravel road, just north of Road 729.
Whitlow said the vehicle went into a broadside slide, then into the ditch on the west side of the road, rolling one and a half times before coming to rest.
Both Knight and passenger 28-year-old Kristi Ohrman of Brush, Colo., were wearing seat belts. With only minor scrapes and cuts, neither required medical services, Whitlow said.
TheĀ  vehicle was totaled.
