Free tire disposal coming in September PDF Print E-mail

The Chase County Commissioners are sponsoring a free tire disposal for southwest Nebraska residents over a three-day period in September.
Chase County residents are among those in five counties offered the free service Sept. 15-17 at the transfer station, south of Imperial, located at 73605  331 Avenue.
Tires will be accepted on Sept 15-16 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and again on Sept. 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The tires will be accepted only during those hours.
There will be no cost to residents for the disposal, and all types of tires—auto, truck, tractor and combine—will be accepted. Tires will not be accepted from retailer, however.
Rims cannot accompany the tires during this collection.
The disposal is sponsored by the Chase County Commissioners and Southwest Nebraska Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D).
Grant funds to provide the tire disposal are being provided by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality.
Questions about the event can be directed to Billie Muehlenkamp at the courthouse, 308-882-7520, or to the Southwest Nebraska RC&D at 888-585-1085.
Muehlenkamp can also be contacted by email at:
