Republican River Riparian Partnership conference to be held in McCook

Republican River Riparian Partnership will be hosting a conference, Tuesday, Nov. 27, 9:30 a.m., at the 4-H Building on the Red Willow County Fairgrounds.
This conference is designed to encourage people who live and work along the river to attend and participate in determining what they want the Republican River to look like in 30 years and beyond.
The Republican River Riparian Partnership (RRRP) includes Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado. This partnership is working to foster cooperation between three states to develop a regional plan for the watershed.
Through this effort, RRRP wants to increase economic development throughout the area, increase the quantity and quality of water within the watershed and increase educational opportunities in regard to water quantity and quality.
The goal of the RRRP is to start the process of developing team leaders for category 8 watersheds.
Those watersheds are: Arikaree, North Fork Republican, South Fork Republican, Upper Republican, Frenchman, Stinking Water, Red Willow, Medicine, Harlan County Reservoir, Upper Sappa, Lower Sappa, South Fork Beaver, Little Beaver, Beaver, Prairie Dog, Middle Republican, White Rock and Lower Republican.
