The 27th annual Southwestern Nebraska Pheasants Forever banquet is set for this Saturday at the city gym in Imperial. Social hour starts at 5:30 p.m. followed by the banquet at 7 p.m. and auction afterwards. One of the prints by David A. Maass that will be available at the auction is “Hasty Exit,” being displayed above by banquet chairman Joe Weiss. He said there will be 10 to 15 items available at the silent auction with about 30 more during the live auction activity. Tickets are available at the door Saturday. Youths who have attended mentor hunts in the past and wear their vests and hats will be entered into drawings for special prizes that night, said Chapter President Heather Francis. Funds raised at the banquet will be earmarked for pheasant habitat development in the area and for maintenance and new projects at the Pheasants Forever Memorial Park, west of Champion.
